SYNOPSIS:
"They're coming to get you, Barbara..." In 1968, The Village Voice called NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD "one of the best horror films ever made." Rex Reed said "Don't miss it." Twenty-five years later, this low-budget, independent effort is still considered the best of its kind and has spawned numerous rip-offs, sequels and even a color remake and has taught a new generation of filmmakers how to make movies by bucking the traditional studio system. Tempe Video is proud to present the NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD 25TH ANNIVERSARY DOCUMENTARY, a feature-length look back at the making of this seminal classic, licensed and produced with the cooperation of Image Ten, Inc., the film's producers. Gathered together for the first time in twenty-five years are director George A. Romero, writer John A. Russo and producers Russell W. Streiner and Karl Hardman. These unique and varied talents candidly discuss the film's creation and release in a never-before-seen roundtable interview that forevermore displays the comraderie, care and friendship that went into this motion picture. Supplementing this interview are all-new discussions with Hardman and parter Marilyn Eastman on the film's unique makeup, music and sound effects. You will see for the first time black-and-white and rare color photographs taken by these two actors that have only recently been unearthed for the film's silver anniversary. Also on hand are celebrity interviews with John Landis (AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON), Wes Craven (A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET), Tobe Hooper (THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE), Sam Raimi (THE EVIL DEAD) and other filmmakers, in addition to Film Threat magazine editors Christian Gore and David E. Williams. After twenty-five years, you will never find a documentary that so thoroughly examines NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD and the impact it has on modern cinema.

"A nice and informative refreshment of the late '60s!" - Augustus Lenzl, Splatting Image #27
